HELP YOU DIDN’T EXPECT
You broke this loaf, and it carried a message about receiving.
Someone offers to help, and before you’ve even thought about it, you’ve already said, “No, I’m fine.” It’s almost automatic. You don’t want to inconvenience anybody. You don’t want to owe anyone anything. You tell yourself other people need it more than you do.
And somewhere underneath that, you may have quietly wished someone would simply notice — without you having to ask, without you having to explain.
That wish is not a flaw. It’s just very human. You might even recognize yourself a little, reading this.
The next time someone offers to help, notice what it feels like to actually say yes instead of your usual answer.
